Amanda & Mike met 10 years ago doing yoga. They were just friends, until Amanda moved to Hartford 3 1/2 years ago. Mike was the self-proclaimed “Hartford Aficionado,” so she had to hit him up for the best things to do in her new city. Turns out she moved next door to him! They went on a date, and Amanda left starry-eyed. He was the ONE – and they’ve been smitten together ever since. Mike proposed in 2018 in a tiny cabin in the woods in the Berkshires in front of a crackling fire.
They initially wanted to have a destination elopement, but ended up deciding on their home city of Hartford to have a fun, easy, relaxed day in the place where they have so many sentimental ties.
They did a first look at the Goodwin Hotel, tied the knot at the beautiful Hartford City Hall with 20 of their friends and family members (complete with a flower petal exit) and had a post-ceremony parade through Bushnell Park to Porron & Pina for cocktail hour and dinner. WHAT A DAY!
Oh, and did I mention they had a VERY special officiant – their friend Justin married them. He was the Justin of the Peace. Too cute!
Here’s to many more years of hiking, yoga, rock climbing dates, kitty cuddle sessions, late night dark chocolate runs, and impromptu kitchen dance parties. CHEERS TO AMANDA & MIKE!
